7 New Power Automate Connectors from Tyntec, Peltarion & Africa’s Talking

This morning, Power Automate added seven new connectors, making this one of the biggest days in new connectors for Power Automate in 2020, including multiple messaging and SMS connectors. Though there are seven new connectors, there are four from tyntec, two from Africa’s Talking and one from Peltarion. Let’s take a look at each of these and see what they can do for your organization.

Tyntec

Tyntec launched its first four connectors today, each very simple and looking at a messaging service:

tyntec WhatsApp Business

This connector enables WhatsApp communication channels using tyntec’s Conversations API to improve your communication ability. It has two actions:

  • Status check
  • Send WhatsApp Template message

Using the WhatsApp Business connector, you could send notifications, alerts, memos or customer engagement materials.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Small scope, but powerful for tyntec users.

tyntec Viber Business

The Viber Business connector brings together Viber messaging capabilities with the Power Automate platform. It works the same way the WhatsApp connector above does, just with a different platform. It has two actions:

  • Status check
  • Send Viber message

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Small scope, but powerful for tyntec users.

tyntec SMS Business

The SMS Business connector allows SMS communications in the Power Automate space using the tyntec Conversations API. It has two actions (like the other messaging connectors from tyntec): status check and send a custom SMS.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Small scope, but powerful for tyntec users.

tyntec Portability Check

The Portability Check connector lets you validate a phone number in the tyntec number portability database. It is extremely simple with only one action: Check phone number.

Rating: 2 out of 5.

This is a very niche connector and only applies to a small group of people using this software.

Africa’s Talking

Africa’s Talking SMS

This connector lets you send and receive SMS messages from more than 300 million mobile subscribers across Africa. It has two actions: Send SMS and Fetch Inbox. This is a great connector for organizations in Africa looking to incorporate SMS into their automation.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Limited scope, but powerful for African companies.

Africa’s Talking Payments

This connector allows organizations to charge and send payments to more than 300 million mobile, bank and card account holders across Africa. There are 8 actions on this connector, but no triggers.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Limited scope, but powerful for African companies.

Peltarion

Using this connector, you can connect your app with your Peltarion models. The Microsoft documentation suggests some of the following possibilities for using this connector:

  • Can tell the difference between music genres and classify them accordingly (link)
  • Understands the semantic meaning of words and use it to classify movie reviews or customer support messages (link)
  • Label images as per the clothing category they belong to (say in an e-commerce catalog) (link)
  • Predict the value and price of houses you’re looking to buy (link)

Let’s talk about the connector in Power Automate: it has one action, to call the Peltarion API. We hope to see more advancements in this connector as it matures!

Rating: 3 out of 5.

To round out the connectors from today… here’s another with limited scope!
