Document Management, Events and Two-Factor Authentication Connectors Land in Power Automate

Creators have been adding new connectors for Power Automate and the latest ones added for document management, two-factor authentication and knowing when certain events occur make a total of 470 connectors! Let’s take a look at these new additions.

Eigen Events Power Automate connector icon
Eigen Events

For users within the energy business sector, this Power Automate connector requires that you have: (1) to be an Eigen’s Ingenuity customer running Ingenuity and other complimentary services in cloud or on premises, and (2) Ingenuity v5.6.3 and above as well as Eigen Events Bus v0.2 and above both configured for secure public access.

There’s one action and one trigger. Its action gets all events supported by the designated server, and its trigger happens when any of the events subscribed to occurs.

Look forward to expanded future capabilities for users in this sector. For now, two and a half stars.

InforShare Power Automate connector icon
InfoShare

InfoShare Power Automate connector, from the Swiss-based company KenDox AG, is designed to manage digital documents, information, binders and processes. Its list of possible options include:

  • Create or update a document or process
  • Do a document Search
  • Get a document, document properties, process, process properties, or get file content
  • Convert file content to different format and add annotation or overlay to file content
  • List processes
  • Close an open process
  • Close current task and assign user to next task
  • Close task and continue process
  • Logon
  • Logon with hashed password
  • Logoff

I did notice there’s not an option to delete a document or process although I’ll admit I’m not sure how significant that might be during day-to-day use, so if you choose to use this connector, I’d love to know if it’s on your wish list.

Naturally, you’ll need a license to use this connector from [email protected] and Kendox InfoShare login credentials along with Kendox InfoShare with the WCF service endpoints reachable online.

Great out-of-the-gate start for this one. Three and a half stars!

tyntec 2FA Power Automate connector icon
tyntec 2FA

The addition of tyntec’s two-factor authentication (2FA) for use with SMS and voice rounds out this communication powerhouse’s options for automation. This one joins tyntec’s Portability Check, SMS Business, Viber Business and WhatsApp Business group of Power Automate connectors.

This 2FA connector automates sending a passcode to your user’s phone via SMS or voice and it has multi-language and customization support. To take advantage of this two-factor authentication connector, you’ll need a Microsoft Power Apps or Power Automate plan with custom connector feature and the tyntec API key.

Connector actions include:

  • Get a status report for a given one-time password (OTP).
  • Send an OTP to a destination number.
  • Re-send an OTP to a destination number.
  • Verify the given OTP code.
  • Delete the given OTP code.

Be advised that for the moment at least, in cases when the code is not valid, it will return the dreaded 401 response, not as challenging as the blue screen of death of course, but it will stop your Flow.

Great addition to the tyntec repertoire. Four stars.

XBridger Document Manager Power Automate connector icon
XBridger Document Manager

XBridger Document Manager lets you merge documents, convert documents from one format to another, and create modern pages from a Word document. Its list of actions include:

  • Convert a document to a PDF
  • Convert Word document to a simple .aspx page
  • Create a modern page from Word documents
  • Export list or library data to PDF (supports 4 columns and one group parameter)
  • Extract images from Word document
  • Merge multiple documents format to pdf
  • Merge multiple Word documents into one

I have a confession. I had to look up the definition of a “modern” Word document. Considering I’ve been using Microsoft Word nearly every working day for a handful of decades, I was fascinated by the idea that I hadn’t previously heard the term. So for the curious and possibly uninformed:

word processor, or word processing program, does exactly what the name implies. … Modern word processing programs, however, include features to customize the style of the text, change the page formatting, and may be able to add headers, footers, and page numbers to each page.

techterms.com

The biggest challenge posed by this connector is that in case you have questions the company’s website minimally functions. The contact page provides no access. Only the home page and pricing pages work. Of its five blog posts the current three (written as recently as January 2021) address the connector. Simply put, it looks as though the connector has been built and a website to sell it has been created to support that endeavor.

Sounds like a great idea, but there are ten others like it in the Power Automate world. One star.

What else is new?

If you’re currently using Common Data Service or Power BI, you’d do well to know there is a new trigger that has been added to each of these connectors. Meanwhile, Power Virtual Agents connector has been fully deprecated.

Whether you’re digging on two-factor authentication, automating your document management tasks or trying to simplify daily work processes, Power Automate connectors can streamline them for you.
