Human Resource Pros and Big Data Managers…

Human Resource Pros and Big Data Managers…

…will love the latest drop pf Power Automate connectors. There are possibilities here for big data and company library resource managers, title and escrow pros, and graphic designers. Two of these six could well be used by human resource managers during the hiring process. Here’s a quick review of each one.

Advanced Data Operations

Are you working with big data? The Advanced Data Operations connector automates the transformation of bulk datasets. The best analogy I can think of to describe the real power of this connector is this:

Suppose you have all of your data in one form like a big pile of blue Play-Doh. You put the whole pile into this connector (which we’ll call the Play-Doh Fun Factory) to yield a flow of perfectly shaped, blue stars that fit right into the universe to which you are limited (say from JSON to CSV.) Obviously, its much more advanced than that and their documentation is clearly more formidable, but you get the idea. Fascinating!

Google Books

One clear use case for the new Google Books Power Automate connector would be to build a reference library of books for your company that exceeds the “I-don’t-know-just-Google-it” mentality and replaces it by tapping digitized works by authors you know and respect, or who are experts in your field. The ability for a developer to interact with this API could empower managers and employees alike. That said, I’d like to see a trigger added for when a particular author or topic of your choosing is added to the library.

InfoQuery resware connector icon
InfoQuery

When addressing this connector’s capabilities, I had to first lookup the term “Resware.” I found the following: “Resware is a powerful workflow automation platform for the title and escrow industry. It is a sophisticated, yet flexible solution providing smart and scalable workflows, a secure collaboration portal, numerous service provider and bank integrations, and much more.” ~adeptivesw.com

Not being a realtor or banker myself, understanding this made all the difference in seeing the value of the InfoQuery connector. With 32 actions, there’s plenty you can do to automate viewing, creating, updating and deleting the files, receipts, closing estimates, etc. when you have the daunting job of managing titles and escrows.

The Color

The Color connector hooked my designer eye immediately. Graphic designers and web page creators will find the ability to tap this open-source API at the least interesting and at the most exciting. The connector automates your ability to “pass in any valid color and get conversions into any other format, the name of the color, placeholder images and a multitude of schemes.” From a person who gets excited about the announcement of the new Pantone color each year, I say, “Cool!”

Veteran Confirmation
Veteran Confirmation

This connector, Veteran Confirmation, is a straight-forward method to confirm one’s veteran status according to the Veteran’s Administration. If your company gives special recognition, hiring preference to, discounts or other services to veterans, this connector’s single action “Get Confirmation” can be added to your business process. The API returns only “Confirmed” or “Unconfirmed.” Required information includes: First and Last Name, Date of Birth, and Social Security Number.

Workable

Human resource managers will want to look at the Workable connector as a way to better manage job applicants and the hiring journey. With the connector you can extract information about account hiring members’ pipeline stages, jobs, scheduled events, jobs and/or candidate’s activity. In addition, it automates the management of potential candidates by getting the candidate and extracting pertinent details.
