New Document E-Sign, and SMS, Voice & Chat Connectors

To kick off the month of July 2022, thirty three (that’s 33) new Power Automate connectors dropped!

Over the next few days, I’ll be delivering reviews of these, but I’m NOT going to slam you with them all at once. Instead, to the degree it’s possible, I’m grouping them by use, highlighting today those which address E-signing, SMS, voice, Email and chat.

Since The E-Sign Act, signed by President Bill Clinton on June 30, 2000 granted electronic signatures the same legal status as handwritten ones, the use of e-signatures versus the former snail mail, actual ink, show us your firstborn to prove you are who you say you are has grown. This so much so that now, we’re seeing an explosion of Power Automate connectors to drive this single facet of our business lives. We’ve identified 19 connectors designed for this purpose, two of which new ones reviewed below.

New E-sign Connectors

The ViaFirma connector for sending sign requests to others is limited to two actions, (1) create signature requests and get the permanent link, and (2) create and send signature requests via email.

Of these two new E-sign connectors, Zoho Sign stands out as it offers actions that automate all of the things you’d expect or need including:

  • Create a document for signing by uploading a document’
  • Recall, get details about, or delete a document
  • Send a sign request of an uploaded document
  • Send a reminder to recipients
  • Update the properties of a created request
  • Get data of a completed request
  • Get a list of templates
  • Get template details
  • Download the completion certificate
  • Download the selected document

This connector triggers a flow registering a callback for a particular event.

SMS, Voice, Email and Chat

With the proliferation of smart phones, we’re becoming accustomed to receiving a variety of messages whether we’re being marketed to, reminded of upcoming appointments or meetings, or for our general convenience.

In this category we’ve identified 33 different connectors that handle SMS messaging, 25 that automate email and 11 which offer voice functionality. Here are the three latest ones.

MOBSIM Send SMS
MOBSIM Send SMS

From the Brazilian-based MOBSIM, this connector’s one action allows you to send SMS messages through your MOBSIM account. Limited geography and only one function.

Spain based Mensagia’s actions tackle SMS, email and voice campaigns with contacts in your Mensagia account.

  • Create a contact.
  • Get a list of 2-way SMS or 2-way SMS numbers.
  • Send a 2-way SMS to your contacts.
  • Send SMS’s or SMS campaigns to your contacts.
  • Send a transactional email to your contacts using your custom templates from Mensagia.
  • Carry out a voice campaign to telephone numbers in Spain.

Vonage

To take advantage of this connector, you’ll need a Nexmo (Vonage) account. Developers will appreciate this heavily documented API. The Vonage connector’s actions though few, let you further automate your SMS, voice and chat functions. The difference between the “basic” and “standard” number insight information actions in unclear.

  • Send a Message
  • Get basic number insight information about a number
  • Get standard number insight information about a number
  • Generate and send a PIN to your user for a Verify request
  • Confirm the PIN you received from your user matches the Verify request
