Sailing Past 850 Power Automate Connectors

Sailing Past 850 Power Automate Connectors

The excitement continues with new connectors added for intelligent document processing, cloud-based strategic planning and more!

Good Monday everyone! Our official count of available Power Automate connectors now stands at 852. Holy cow, people! Let’s take a look at the newest ones.

24 Pull Request icon
24 Pull Request

This independently published connector taps into open source like nobody’s business. So what’s a pull request? According to Uncle Google, “A pull request – also referred to as a merge request – is an event that takes place in software development when a contributor/developer is ready to begin the process of merging new code changes with the main project repository.” A good analogy here would be before you deliver the sand from the kid’s sandbox at your local playground, just make sure the neighbor’s kitties haven’t visited it recently.

Okay, great and 24 Pull request? Again checking in with dear ol’ Unk, “24 Pull Requests is an annual community-organized event encouraging developers to give back to open source projects over the holiday season.” You can join the festivities by submitting 24 pull requests between December 1 and December 24.

“But, what about the connector?” you ask.

If you want to find a few gems among the contributions to 24 Pull Request, or locate the right place to contribute to a project in this open source place, this connector can offer you seven helpful actions:

  • Load information for a specific user.
  • Load information about all the contributions this year.
  • Load information for a specific organisation.
  • Load all contributions by users.
  • Load all organisations.
  • Get all users, and my favorite pick here:
  • Get projects to contribute to.

AIForged intelligent document processing icon
AIForged

An intelligent document processing platform and process flow app, AIForged, hails from a South African based company by the same name. The new connector’s slew of actions make it possible to automate the process of taking a document, extracting data, validating and integrating it into actionable information while allowing for humans to tap specified parts of the process such as escalation.

A great use case for this connector would be in the healthcare industry where facts and science need to meet with human compassion and understanding of the individual patient. Taking hard data and integrating it with a medical professional’s opinion could improve patient care outcomes, and by extension medical practice’s bottom line. By the same token, this connector could also have useful application in finance, human resources, and products procurement.

Cascade Strategy New Power Automate icon
Cascade Strategy New

I was not overly wowed by this one. Here’s why. The Cascade Strategy New connector might best used by new-ish teams, or old ones that are in danger of failing who need a process platform with which to create a business strategy and follow through with the plan in measurable ways. Reviewing this one left me with the thought that businesses that have already seen success have probably outgrown the need for the app.

Electricity Maps connector icon
Electricity Maps

What the Electricity Maps connector lacks in its quantity of actions available, it more than makes up for in this APIs documentation. For climate change activists, climatologists, and government entities that wish to get information about where the electricity in a specific area comes from, how much carbon was emitted to produce it, or historical data, live data and forecasts, this connector would be a good Go To.

Actions include getting either by zone identifier or by geolocation:

  • The forecasted power production or consumption breakdown of an area.
  • The forecasted carbon intensity (in gCO2eq/kWh) of an area.
  • The last 24h of carbon intensity (in gCO2eq/kWh) of an area.
  • The last known carbon intensity (in gCO2eq/kWh) of electricity consumed in an area.
  • The last known data about the origin of electricity in an area.
  • The last 24h of power consumption and production breakdown of an area, which represents the physical origin of electricity broken down by production type.

OR

  • Verify that the Electricity Maps API is up.
  • Get a list of countries and zones by code.

Available information for more than 50 countries, this connector can help inform policy decisions.

While I realize that comparing these connectors one against the other is much like choosing the better of a bowl of Fruit Loops or a bowl of vichyssoise, if I had to choose among these five, my most favored connector of the day would be AIForged for its intelligent document processing with a close second by Electricity Maps.
